Need Funding For Your Innovative Project?

Our mission is to find, fund, and feature innovative missions projects.

If you have an innovative missions project that is Smart, Sustainable, and/or Scalable, we’d love to get to know you. Learn more about our grant application process on this page.

The Missions Advisory Committee

The  Kingdom Missions Fund provides grants to innovative Christian missions projects that are Smart, Sustainable, and Scalable.

Grants will be awarded to missions where the impact would be great and primarily for the total cost of the project being considered. If the grant is only for a part of the total project, the grant will only be released when the applicant can prove that the additional cost of the project has been raised. Any grant awarded should be a significant part of the whole project cost.

Our grants have historically ranged from $500 to $5,000. We like to award between 8 – 12 grants each year and the average grant is roughly $3,000.

The fund focuses on three priorities.

  1. Christian Missions, defined as the crossing of cultural and geographic boundaries in order to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples, either internationally or within the U.S.
  2. Christian Education
  3. Short-Term Mission Projects

Who Is Eligible to Receive a Grant?

U.S. based ministries who have

  1. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
  2. Been thoroughly investigated by our Missions Advisory Committee
  3. Display honesty, character, and are approve reproach in the way that they conduct their ministry

Grants will be awarded for innovative projects and certain tangible items. Please note, we do not award grants for:

  • The personal support of mission members.
  • The salaries of the mission’s staff.
  • Ongoing ministry operations.

Kingdom Mission Fund refers to us as their ministry partners, but they also routinely call us part of the KMF family. For a small Christian-based nonprofit those words, on the challenging days, those words are like manna and protection knowing people care and prayerfully have our back. They mean encouragement, equipping, support, and cheering us on to do the work to which God calls us. We are better for being part of this family of good and Godly people.

Executive Director, Threads of Hope

KMF has been a constant presence of both support and encouragement for my organization, ForgottenSong. Not only do they support other ministries with their resources and time, but they actively invest in the advancement of ideas, innovations, accountability, and discipleship worldwide. Both ForgottenSong and I would not be where we are today without KMF.

Charles Davidson

Executive Director, Forgotten Song

I am very grateful for the Kingdom Mission Fund’s understanding and support of missionaries around the world. Their gifts helped us employ and disciple more teenagers from our neighborhood in our summer camps and after-school programs. To be supported by KMF is not only to receive financial support but to be invited to a family of believers who care and partner with you in the gospel!

Executive Director, Urban Promise

What We Look For

We fund grants that demonstrate or more of the following values:

Reaching today’s world takes smart strategies. We look for projects that are great ideas! These can include new strategies and creative uses of technology.

Every mission needs resources. We love to fund ideas that are self-sustaining once they are launched, creating a stream of resources back to the mission.

A great idea is something that can be replicated by other missions. We like to fund projects that can become models for other missions to use.

We fund grants once each calendar year.  The application for our next round of grants, to be awarded in 2020, will be available in early September.  Until then, please keep the following key dates in mind:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you provide on-going funding for projects?

We do not provide support for ongoing expenses. Instead, we focus on funding projects that have a sustainable component. The result of these projects generate on-going funding for the ministry. We are advocates for sustainable missions projects.

What criteria do you have for grants?
All grant applications are thoroughly evaluated by the Missions Advisory Committee to identify those that best meet our Grant Distribution Guidelines. In addition, the applying organization must either be exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code or have such an organization that would be willing to accept any resultant grant on their behalf.
Am I eligible for a grant if I am not located in the United States?

While we can only fund through an organization that is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code, you can be serving anywhere in the world.

Can you make an exception to the 501(c)(3) requirement?

No. This requirement is imposed by our board of directors and has been confirmed by them for the current application year.

Do you fund grants to cover the cost of short-term mission trips?

We generally do not fund any costs related to individual team member expenses. We may consider funding a project that will be performed by such a team.
